Ive heard the excuses "I dont intentionally hit middle when I have a shaved bat"... And I think 80% of the guys that use shaved bats do attempt to stay out of middle.... But what happens when they are a little late, or a little early in their swing?? IMO: Its not worth the risk, or definately not worth the reward...
risk/reward aside - its freaking ILLEGAL! Again - if u have to bend/break the rules to compete, then GTFO! What is sad is that of the ones I observed using 'good equipment' do NOT need it. Guess it makes them feel like a man to 'break the rules'? Who knows? |

Its coming 7MPH for gods sake. Are you scared your gonna miss it or something. I agree with E Pats, its only a matter of time until somebody we see on the field everyweekend is gonna get seriously hurt or killed. To bad softball is all greed now. Lets see the directors provided the bats and balls. We would see who really loves the game and also the real players are. If you got to shave a bat, you need to take up golf or hang yourself with your shoe laces. Sad part is the person who gets hurt or killed is gonna be somebody who just loves the game. Hope one day these cheaters get a real life and wake the FK up.
